Successes

StormLogic works with our customers to identify the challenges they face, and to provide targeted, cost-effective solutions.

MythTV Store

  • Our team has advocated the MythTV DVR application for quite some time, preferring it to all of its commercial competitors. In order to support the growing MythTV and KnoppMyth community, we implemented the MythTV Store at mythic.tv using Open Source software.

Dragon

  • Building on our success with mythic.tv, we created Dragon, an open hardware platform for KnoppMyth high-definition audio and video. The unconventional decision to publish the full hardware list has set us apart from competitors and has resulted in a groundswell of word-of-mouth advertising as well as contributions from the community.

Hanover Foods

  • When Hanover Foods Corporation was faced with the cost of either giving into Microsoft's new round of exorbitant licensing fees for their client/server architecture or switching to Linux, we were there to help them make the transition to Linux.

Mystic Mail

  • StormLogic collaborates on the design and deployment of pay-as-you-go "last mile" internet services for campgrounds.  Mystic Mail is our first deployment, which has scaled to serve a community of over 10,000 campers.

WiFi to Green Trees

  • The Schenley Park Cafe was losing business. Although ideally located within the tranquil park, it began to lose clientele to several newer cafes that offered internet access.
  • StormLogic worked with the cafe to identify their needs and desires. StormLogic provided a menu of solutions that included the cafe's budget constraints, potential revenue generation, and third-party vendors.
  • The cafe selected StormLogic to bring in broadband, create a private business network, and provide free Wireless Internet access for the cafe and surrounding park. The cafe has noticed an increase in patrons, many of whom can be seen with laptops enjoying the comfort of the park and convenience of net access.

Emory University Activty Tracker
  • Emory University's department of biological anthropology was undertaking a stress study. Collecting and analysing the data involved having study participants mark up sheets of paper for every 15-minute increment of their day. While functional, it was time consuming and tedious for all parties. StormLogic was consulted to find a way to ease this burden.
  • Working closely with Emory, StormLogic helped them discover their requirements and detail a wish list. The end product exceeded their expectations. Each participant was given a PDA with the study software on board. The software allowed Emory to upload extensible studies, manage and track each indivdual participant, and download all information into their particular back end tools for analysis. The solution saved significant time for both the participants and the analysis team.
